Mission Statement:
The Center for Photographic Art is inspired by the belief that photography is a powerful language for creating, interpreting and expressing meaning. Informed by regional traditions of mentorship,
respect for craft and mutual support, we are committed to artistic development, creative inquiry and education.
Brief History:
Founded in 1992, the Center for Photographic Art is an exhibition gallery, an educational organization and a community of people who practice, support and advance photography as art.
Supported in part by grants from the Cultural Council of Monterey County, The Community Foundation for Monterey County, CPA membership, and the Monterey Peninsula community, we
extend our sincere thanks to all of our sponsors.
Submissions Guidelines:
At this time the Center for Photographic Art is not reviewing unsolicited submissions.
Becoming a member of CPA will insure that you will be updated with all gallery news and will be notified if our submissions policy changes.
Please email the Center and ask to be added to our submissions contact list if you are not a member.
Please do not send unsolicited materials as they will not be considered for exhibits. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
CPA extends tremendous gratitude to all of the volunteers that help the organization on an ongoing basis. After all, we thrive and survive as a volunteer operated
organization. Each month, we'll profile a different volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, contact us at info@photography.org and let us know
your specific area of interest.
