First pictures from the JE 2012 opening reception

I haven’t received any images from the many photographers who were at the opening reception of the 2012 Juried Exhibition. In the meantime, you’ll have to make do with a few I snapped.

Richard Cannon, pictured an hour before the reception started and before he changed into his more formal clothing:

It wasn’t too crowded for the first half-hour:

Stevenson School Photography Students Visit CPA Gallery

Stevenson photography students visit the CPA gallery to see the Uelsmann exhibition

Photography instructor Cole Thompson brought his students to the CPA gallery on December 8th. The students thoroughly enjoyed viewing the work of Jerry Uelsmann and discussion of the work was lively. Uelsmann’s references in his images to other photographers and artists as well as to other works of art was often pointed to by the students and by Thompson. Thompson shared his own person experience of meeting Uelsmann some thirty plus years ago and described how that meeting influenced his own work and his life. This is the second exhibition at the CPA gallery these same students have come to see. We look forward to sharing more with them in 2012.
