Members' Night: Print Review
February 2, 2012
7:00 – 9:00pm
CPA Gallery

The CPA's first Members' Night of 2012, was held on the evening of Thursday, February 3, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all attending. We began the Members' Night events for the New Year with our popular print review evenings.

Our outstanding reviewers, Robin Robinson and Tracy Valleau, provided indepth discussions about the images of several CPA members. Significant audience participation added to both the education and involvement for all attendees.

Thanks to all who joined us to kick off our 2012 Members' Night program.

Robin V. Robinson is a fifth generation California central coast native who studied with mentors in the tradition of West coast photography. She hand prints her work in the darkroom, and enjoys applying experimental printing techniques to her dream-like images. Robinson has received top awards in international underwater photographic competitions, and was awarded “Best Photography” in the most recent Monterey Museum of Art Biennial, where her work is in the permanent collection. She is a member of the advisory board for the Cal Poly College of Liberal Arts, and is a board member for the Monterey Friends of C.G. Jung.

Tracy Valleau built his first darkroom 55 years ago and he has been shooting ever since. As a certified Macintosh consultant and programmer, he easily made the transition to digital imagery and he taught it at the graduate level at Academy of Art University. His work has been published in "Outdoor Photographer," "Panorama," "Best of California," "Windows of the World" (among others) and has been included in juried shows at the CPA, as well as other shows. Tracy's passion is digital printing.

There will be a limit of 4-6 prints for each participant.

We hope to see you at what is sure to be a fun, educational and entertaining evening.
